Kidney Function Program

The Kidney Function Program at St. Paul's Hospital provides care to patients at various stages of early kidney disease or those diagnosed with "chronic kidney disease" (CKD). The goals of the Kidney Function Program are to delay the progression of kidney disease and to maximize patient's wellness until dialysis or transplantation may be needed. The kidney function clinics have a team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians and social workers who specialize in the treatment of kidney disease and who offer medical care, education, and counseling.

The Kidney Function Program at St. Paul's Hospital is the longest running service of its kind in Canada. St. Paul's also operates a kidney function clinic in Richmond. Patients are referred to the Kidney Function Program through their kidney specialist.
