HONORIA CONWAY AT ST. VINCENT'S HEATHER | Overview

Honoria Conway at St. Vincent’s Heather is a newly built residence for seniors who live independently with assistance. Operated by Providence Health Care, it is part of a larger planned development for a Campus of Care on our 7.5 acre property at the corner of Heather Street and 33rd Avenue in Vancouver (the site of the former St. Vincent's Hospital, Heather).

The Assisted Living residence is named for Sister Honoria Conway, who founded the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception. The Sisters’ legacy extends across Canada and in their making the St. Vincent’s Heather lands available for the Campus of Care.

Honoria Conway opened at the end of August 2008. It has 60 one-bedroom Assisted Living apartments for seniors, with 20 units on each of three upper floors. The apartments are approximately 550 square feet in area and are suitable for either single tenants or couples. They are unfurnished, however they each contain a fridge, microwave and two-burner cook top.

There is a common living room, dining room and balcony on each of the upper floors. In addition, cooks on each floor prepare lunch and dinner daily and meet with tenants regularly to discuss food issues, preferences, and meal planning. All tenants may enjoy the facilities on the main floor, including:

• Lounge with large screen TV/DVD and piano;
• Library (multi-purpose room can be reserved for private parties);
• Small kitchen serving the lounge and multipurpose room;
• Spa with hairdressing, bathing facilities, rooms for a podiatrist, massage therapist, aesthetician and other health care professionals; and,
• Patio with BBQ.

There are also eight fully equipped supportive housing apartments for young adults with disabilities.
