A multidisciplinary team provides diagnosis, assessment, and treatment for the elder who presents multiple problems including immobility, acute confusion, unexpected behavioral change, unsteadiness, falls, and incontinence. Depending on need, patients are admitted to inpatient service or day hospital. The goal of the assessment and treatment team is to keep the elderly in their usual residential setting for as long as possible. Emphasis is on multicultural aspects of care.
